Who must provide a language test?

All the students who are not native of a country where French / English is not official (depending on the language the programme is taught in) must provide a test.

Ex: you are from Bénin : you don't need to provide a French test to study in a programme in French. You need to to give us an English test if you wish to apply for an English-taught programme.

If you are from a country where there are two nationalities, you don't need a test only if you studied in the concerned language.

Ex: you are from Cameroon. You will need to provide a document (a transcript will do) to prove you studied in French, if you apply to a French-taught programme. Idem for English if you apply for an English-taught Master.

If you studied several years in English or in French, please provide a Medium of Instruction Certificate to be exempted from a test.

Ex: you are from Pakistan and you always studied in English. Providing a MoI Certificate will be enough to prove your level.

Please be aware that ESA can always ask you for a test if we think there is a doubt on your level.

Read carefully the requirements to get a Student visa in your country: it can be mandatory to provide a French test, even if you come to study a Master in English. These requirements are independant from ESA's rules.
