What is the ECTS credit system?

"ECTS" stands for "European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System". This system is used in European higher education, and aims to promote student mobility between countries by standardising the value of diplomas. ECTS credits are awarded after passing examinations, projects or other forms of assessment.
